Audubon Park is a gem set amonst the ancient oaks and stately homes of the Uptown/Carrollton neighborhood of New Orleans. Along with several playgrounds, one of the most commonly used features is a 1.8 mile-long paved walking and bicycling loop complete with workout stations at intervals around the loop. The park also features several picnic pavilions, gazebos, art sculptures, and a beautiful lagoon loaded with wildlife. The island of this lagoon features one of the nation's largest rookeries in nesting season. The park also hosts tennis courts, riding stables, soccer fields, and the beautifully-manicured Audubon Golf Club with the Clubhouse Café. During the summer months the Whitney Young Pool is open to the public as well.
