Guide to NOLA

There are many options for getting around in New Orleans, including Uber, Lyft, and taxi cabs. Pedi cabs, three wheeled bicycle/bench cabs are a great option around the CBD (Central Business District) and the French Quarter.

However, our most highly recommended method of travel are our historic streetcars. New Orleans has several streetcar lines, connecting most of the major neighborhoods. The St Charles streetcar line is the oldest continuously operating streetcar line in the world, starting in 1835. Designated as a National Historic Landmark, the green antique Perley Thomas streetcars still run along this route 24 hours a day. This route connects the French Quarter from Canal St to the CBD, Warehouse District, Garden District, Uptown, and the Carrollton Riverbend area.
