Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar
941 Bourbon St French Quarter
Built around 1725, Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop is the oldest structure used as a bar in the United States. With a storied history, including ownership by the pirate Jean Lafitte as a base for the Barataria smuggling operation, this building is history incarnate. This gas-and-candle-lit piano bar is one of the best spots to spend an evening in the Quarter.
